Club Awards 2009 Scholarships
Club scholarships were awarded to two outstanding students entering Georgia Tech in this fall's freshman class. The quality and achievements of students continues to rise each year and Colorado students are among the best enrolling at Tech.
The first scholarship in amount of $5,500 went to Brandon Miller, Cherokee Trail High School of Cherokee School district. Brandon was 22nd in his graduating class of 461, a member of the National Honor Society, and completed the IB (International Baccalaureate) Program. He was Academic All-State First Team in both Football and Track, while doing extensive volunteer and community service activities that include work at Ronald McDonald House, Children's Hospital Blood Donor Center, Teen President of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. and others. Brandon turned down scholarships at Tulane and Texas Christian University to attend Tech. He is tightly focused on a Bio Medical curriculum.
The second scholarship in the amount of $2,000 went to Ms. Casey Mann, of Lewis Palmer High School in Monument, Colorado. Casey was 30th in her graduating class of 443. She too is a member of the National Honor Society, an Academic All-State in soccer, and a campus leader. She is a highly motivated and creative lady that will make a great contribution to Tech. Casey comes from a family heritage with 8 prior Georgia Tech graduates.
Congratulations to them both and to the Colorado Georgia Tech alumni whose generous donations make it possible to help and encourage these outstanding students to go to Tech.
Your future contributions will be greatly appreciated.
